With dozens of rides, all the best food, countless animal exhibits, crafters and endless entertainment, a visit to the North Carolina State Fair is an all-day affair. Whether you just chugged your third lemonade on the Midway or finished another apple cider in Heritage Circle, you’ll need to find a restroom at some point during your time at the fair.
It’s never good to be far from a restroom, especially when you really need one. At the N.C. State Fair, restrooms are located in buildings all across the grounds, meaning you’re never too far from a restroom.
This year, one brand new restroom facility on the grounds and several other recently renovated facilities will make the fair experience even more enjoyable for fairgoers. From family restrooms to mothers’ rooms, here’s a comprehensive guide to restrooms at the N.C. State Fair.
New and renovated facilities
Since the 2024 fair, several restroom facilities across the grounds have been renovated and one has been completely rebuilt.

The restroom building near Gate 8 was torn down and replaced by a new, larger building. In addition to men’s and women’s restrooms, the new building also contains two family restrooms. These large rooms on the front of the building contain accessible toilets, changing tables and ample space.

The women’s room at the newly built facility contains 18 regular stalls and two ADA-accessible stalls. The men’s room contains 11 urinals, eight regular stalls and one ADA-accessible stall.

The building also features water fountains and benches. The building is located near Gate 8, across from the grist mill.
Other restroom facilities on the grounds have been recently renovated. The restroom building near the entrance to the North Carolina Education Lottery Rand Grandstand saw a complete renovation this year. The women’s room in that building contains 14 regular stalls and four ADA-accessible stalls. The men’s room features four regular stalls, four ADA-accessible stalls and 16 urinals.

Also recently renovated is the restroom building located near the Commercial & Education Building at the edge of Kiddieland. The facility has a new exterior look, with green accents where it was previously red. And inside, fairgoers will find the facility has been completely revamped with new stalls, sinks and amenities.

The women’s room in that building contains a total of 40 stalls, five of which are ADA-accessible. The men’s room has 12 urinals, eight regular stalls and four ADA-accessible stalls.
Mothers Rooms and more family rooms
In addition to the family rooms at the new facility near Gate 8, there are two family restrooms at the Gov. James G. Martin Building, located near Gate 9 along the main midway.

The women’s room in the Martin Building contains 24 regular stalls, eight ADA-accessible stalls and a Mothers Room with comfortable seating, counter space and changing tables. The men’s room has 10 urinals, seven regular stalls and two ADA-accessible stalls.

The Gov. Kerr Scott Building, located along the Blue Ridge Road side of the fairgrounds and across from Kiddieland, has men’s and women’s restrooms in the front and in the rear of the building. The women’s room in the front of the building has eight stalls, two of which are ADA-accessible. The men’s room in the front of the building has three urinals, one regular stall and one ADA-accessible stall.
In the back of the Scott Building is another pair of restrooms and a Mothers Room with a universal changing station. The women’s restroom in the back of the building has 13 stalls, two of which are ADA-accessible. The men’s room in the back also has three urinals, one regular stall and one ADA-accessible stall.
The Jim Graham Building, where many livestock shows are held, has two pairs of restrooms — one off of each main entrance. Both women’s rooms in the building have seven stalls, two of which are ADA-accessible. The men’s rooms have five urinals and five stalls, one of which is ADA-accessible, each.

Directly across from the Graham Building is the Agri Supply Expo Center, which contains men’s and women’s restrooms, and a Mothers Room in the rear of the women’s room. The men’s room in the Expo Center has eight stalls, two of which are ADA-accessible, and 14 urinals. The women’s room has 29 stalls, two of which are ADA-accessible.
Other restrooms across the fairgrounds

The iconic Dorton Arena, home of the Got to Be NC Agriculture Pavilion, has restrooms on both its north and south sides. The north lobby — closest to the Live and Local Waterfall Music Stage — has one men’s and one women’s ADA-accessible restroom to the left and right, respectively. Then, down the stairs to the left is a men’s restroom with 22 urinals and 10 stalls. Down the stairs on the right side of the lobby is a women’s restroom with 26 stalls in two rooms.
These restrooms, including the ADA-accessible ones, are mirrored on the south side of the building where the N.C. Public House is housed, close to the SkyGazer.

Located just off Heritage Circle near the Flower & Garden Show is a restroom cabin with men’s and women’s restrooms. The men’s room in that building has six urinals, one ADA-accessible stall and one regular stall. The women’s room has eight stalls, one of which is ADA-accessible.
