Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at the N.C. State Fair! We have lots to be thankful for this year, including all of our Deep Fried fans.
If football isn’t your idea of fun, head over to the Hunt Horse Complex after finishing your Thanksgiving feast and watch theĀ Turkey Circuit Quarter Horse Show. Events on Thursday include jumping, trail riding, pole bending and barrel racing. The show starts at 3:30 p.m. and runs through Sunday.
If you are looking for unique, handmade gifts for the holidays, the State Fairgrounds is the place to be this weekend with two craft shows.
Starting Friday, A Christmas Carousel Holiday Festival will feature original artwork and crafts, Christmas decorations, prints and pottery for sale from N.C. artisans. The event, which runs through Sunday in the Graham Building, will also feature live holiday music, cooking demonstrations, candle making and an appearance by Santa.
Held every Thanksgiving weekend, the 42nd Annual Carolina Designer Craftsmen Fine Crafts Show will feature a variety of fine crafts on display from pottery to wearable fiber and from blown glass to metal work. The event will be held in the Exposition Center Friday through Sunday.
The Raleigh Flea Market will be open as usual on Saturday and Sunday with hundreds of dealers, craftsmen and booths. The Raleigh Flea Market will NOT be open on Black Friday as it has in the past.
