The holiday season is under way and there are lots of opportunities at the N.C. State Fairgrounds to find a special gift for everyone on your list. Raleigh Antiques Extravaganza
The 63rd Raleigh Antiques Extravaganza will take place Friday to Sunday in the Graham Building. More than 125 exhibitors will be there with quality antiques and collectibles. Doors are open Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6.50 per day and $7.50 for a weekend pass. Scandinavian Christmas Fair
You’ll find Scandinavian foods, crafts and entertainment at this old-world celebration. Visitors can enjoy a traditional Scandinavian Christmas to help put them in the spirit of the season. The fair will take place in the Holshouser Building Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and free for children under 13.
Toy Train Sale and Swap Meet
The Southeastern Train Collectors Association will host its holiday Toy Train Sale and Swap Meet Saturday and Sunday in the Scott Building. Vendors will be selling and swapping train sets and parts. Experts also will be on hand for minor repairs to current train sets. Doors are open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Admission is $6 for adults and free for children under 13 with a paying adult.
4th Annual Holiday Classic Open Horse Show
The Hunt Horse Complex will be the site of the Holiday Classic Open Horse Show this weekend. Competition entries will benefit the N.C. State University Intercollegiate Western Riding Team and the North Central District 4-H Horse Program. Contests start Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. Admission is free for spectators.
Raleigh Flea Market
CNN recently named the Raleigh Flea Market as one of the best in the nation. Find out why Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. More than 100 vendors will offer a variety of items for stocking stuffers and other gift ideas.
