Weekend Update: June 28 – July 1

Lizards and snakes and turtles, oh my!

The Repticon Reptile & Exotic Animal Show is coming to the Scott Building at the Fairgrounds June 30 and July 1. Repticon is a reptile and exotic animal convention that showcases vendors from around the country offering live animals, animal supplies and related merchandise. Live animals, presentations and educational seminars are presented throughout the show. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. VIP admission for 9 a.m. Saturday is $12. General admission for ages 13 and older is $10, admission for ages 5 through 12 is $5 and children 4 and younger are admitted free. Two-day general admission is $15.

Capital City Gun Show
The Capital City Gun Show is a buy – sell – trade event showcasing guns, knives, ammo, hunting supplies and anything related to shooting sports. Hours are Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Exposition Center. Daily admission is $10 for ages 12 and older. Only cash is accepted. Saturday admission is valid for both days. Discount coupons are available in local newspapers and on the show website.

Capital City National Truck & Tractor Pull
The Capital City National Truck & Tractor Pull features Heavy Super Stock, Four Wheel Drive, Light Pro Stock, Modified, Super Farm, Two Wheel Drive, Modified Mini, and Light Four Wheel Drive trucks and tractors. This event is sanctioned by the National Tractor Pullers Association and the United Tractor Pullers of North Carolina. Participants earn points to the National Championship that will be held at the State Fairgrounds in October. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. in the Rand Grandstand. There will be no advance ticket sales. Admission is $15 for ages 13 and older and $10 for ages 6 through 12. Admission is free for ages 5 and younger. There will be concessions and no coolers are allowed.

NCHJA Annual Hunter Jumper Show
The NCHJA AA Horse Show starts each day at 8 a.m. through July 1, with special classes held Friday and Saturday. Spectator admission is free. The show is located in the Hunt Horse Complex.

Raleigh Flea Market
The Raleigh Flea Market is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Each weekend, the Commercial and Education buildings, the Shoppes at Dorton and the outside grounds are host to hundreds of dealers, craftsmen, and booths.
