Scaly critters and creepy crawlers invade the fairgrounds this weekend as Repticon hosts its Reptile and Exotic Animal Show in the Scott Building Saturday and Sunday.

Repticon’s Reptile and Exotic Animal Show returns to the fairgrounds, bringing thousands of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, spiders and more to local enthusiasts.
The convention will feature vendors from across the country, offering live animals, animal supplies and other related merchandise. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Spectators can view live animal presentations and seminars throughout the day. VIP Hour/early admission (at 9 a.m.) is $12 and is only available for the Saturday show. General admission is $10 for adults (ages 13 and up), $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for children under 5. Special two-day admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for children under 5.

NCHJA Annual Hunter Jumper Show, June 24-28
Come watch some of the top riders and horses vie for World Championship Hunter Rider points. The NCHJA Annual Horse Show kicked off Wednesday in the Hunt Horse Complex and will continue through Sunday. The show starts each day at 8 a.m. with special classes held Friday and Saturday evenings. Spectator admission is free throughout the show.
Raleigh Money Expo, June 26-28
This year marks the Raleigh Coin Club’s 42nd Annual Raleigh Money Expo, the biggest coin, currency and stamp show in North Carolina. Individuals can buy, sell and trade coins, paper money, stamps, and other U.S. and world collectibles from more than 160 dealers. There will be free educational seminars on Friday and Saturday, as well as educational exhibits all weekend. The exposition will also feature a special “Kid Zone” with games and free coin and stamp prizes. The show will be held in the Exposition Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
Capital City Gun Show, June 27 and 28
C & E Gun Shows presents the Capital City Gun Show held in the Graham Building Saturday and Sunday. The show will offer a variety of guns, gun accessories, hunting supplies, knives and other self-protection items available for sale and trade. Event hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for ages 13 and up, and is free for children under 13. Discount coupons are available here.
Raleigh Flea Market, June 27 and 28
Although it’s a weekend jam-packed with expositions and horse shows at the fairgrounds, don’t forget about the Raleigh Flea Market. While on your way to or from any of the events listed above, you can take some time to peruse the unique offerings of more than 600 vendors. The flea market is open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
