Weekend Update: June 17-19

This weekend at the fairgrounds kicks off with Maker Faire: North Carolina in the Scott Building on Saturday.  The event is designed to showcase all things home-made and entrepreneurial and to celebrate the American creative spirit.  The events will feature exhibits of handcrafted goods in a variety of categories from engineering and hacking to food and health and beyond.  Maker Faire will also include activities for kids and live music throughout the day.

On Saturday and Sunday, C&E Guns Shows and Showmasters Gun Shows will present the Capital City Gun Show in the Graham Building.  The show will give visitors the opportunity to buy, sell and trade guns, knives, ammunition, hunting supplies and related merchandise.

The Raleigh Flea Market will also be open as usual on Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Be sure to stop by and see what you can find among the more than 600 vendors that set up shop at the fairgrounds weekly.

About Tilt-A-Whirl

Jeff Miles interned for the N.C. State Fair in 2011. This is his bio from that year: People usually call me Jeff Miles but when asked what my favorite part of Fair was, rides was the first thing that came to mind--so call me Tilt-A-Whirl from here on out. I've always been a big fan of the State Fair and I'm really excited to be working here this summer. I'll be bringing you weekly updates on the goings on at the fairgrounds and hopefully much more. I can't wait to see you all in October (and hopefully before)!
