Weekend Update: June 16-18

Come learn how living in a tiny home can make a huge impact on your life.

From tiny house hunting to collectible toy shopping, this weekend at the fairgrounds has a little something for everyone. Here’s what’s going on:

  • The Great American Tiny House Show is Friday and Saturday in the Graham Building. The expo will display different types of houses, such as container homes, modular homes and other portable structures. It will also feature exhibits with building equipment and accessories, real estate brokers, recreational items and travel destinations. The event is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is $10.
  • The Man Expo is every man-cave owner’s dream. The event will offer the latest in electronics, hunting and fishing, gaming, automotive, sports and more. It will run Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. in the Exposition Center. General admission is $10, and a two-day pass is $15.
  • The North State Toy and Hobby Show will provide collectors with an opportunity to expand their collections and meet professional athletes. The event will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can expect to find antique and modern collectibles, including items from Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Hot Wheels. Detroit Tigers pitcher Danny McLain will sign autographs on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the Philadelphia 76ers’ Jahlil Okafar will make an appearance on Saturday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Admission is $5, a weekend pass is $7 and children under 15 are admitted for free. The show will be hosted in the Scott Building.
  • The Raleigh Flea Market is Saturday and Sunday at the Commercial and Education buildings and outside grounds. Come discover everything from clothing to antique furniture. Flea market hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Flea market goers can find everything from antique necklaces to today’s hottest toys, including the fidget spinner.
