It’s hard to believe, but it’s already time for fireworks, good food and sporting your red, white and blue. For those of you in Raleigh for the July 4th holiday, be sure to catch the fireworks shows downtown this year. The first show will be at 9:15 p.m. and best seen from Fayetteville Street. The second show will begin at 10:15 p.m. in the area around the Red Hat Amphitheater.
Although the fairgrounds will not have any special events on July 4th or through the weekend, the Flea Market will operate Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can continue to celebrate and show your American pride by shopping for patriotic decor and collectibles at the market.
Events on the fairgrounds will pick back up next Wednesday with the State 4-H Horse Show in the Hunt Horse Complex. The five-day 4-H State Championship Horse Show will feature more than 2,600 entries in 123 classes that highlight 4-H members. The teens will be exhibiting their project animals and demonstrating their riding and equine management skills. The show will run through Sunday and is free and open to the public. Show hours are 3-10 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
Next weekend’s schedule will be packed, so be sure to check back here for an update next Friday.
Our Deep Fried Crew wishes you a relaxing, fun and safe Independence Day, and a happy birthday to our very own Firecracker!
