Weekend Update: Jan. 31 – Feb. 2

Pottery will be for sale at the Let's Shop Local event in the Holshouser Building on Saturday

The fairgrounds is a bit slower this weekend as we gear up for the Southern Farm Show, which starts Wednesday, Feb. 5.  The Farm Show is the largest event of the year at the fairgrounds, other than the N.C. State Fair, of course! It will take over Dorton Arena, the Graham Building, Expo Center, Scott Building, Hunt Horse Complex and a good portion of the outside grounds. The event is free and open to the public, so make plans to come out Feb. 5-7.

Events this weekend:

The Sportscard and Sports Memorabilia Show
will be in the Scott Building with more than 80 exhibitors who will be buying, selling and trading vintage to new sportscards, memorabilia, NASCAR and related merchandise on more than 225 tables. About Funhouse

On the blog I go by Fun House (AKA Heather Overton). At the Fair you'll find me checking out the blue ribbon winners or hanging out in Heritage Circle. It would be hard for me to pick a favorite part of the Fair, but I can tell you one thing I hate - leaving it on the last day. I can't wait for opening day!
