Weekend Update: Aug. 17-19

The Carolina Fall Boat Show and Sale will be held in the Graham Building this weekend.

Mark your calendars because we are just under eight weeks away from the 2012 N.C. State Fair. If you haven’t already, you can purchase your gate admission, ride and concert tickets online at www.ncstatefair.org. By purchasing in advance, you’ll avoid lines at the fair, secure your favorite seat for concerts in Dorton Arena and can earn up to three free gate admission tickets with the Early Bird Special.

In the meantime, it’s going to be another great weekend at the fairgrounds. The big event this weekend is the Carolina Fall Boat Show and Sale in the Graham Building. If you’re in the market for a boat, drop by and take advantage of summer clearance prices from more than 25 dealers. The show is open Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults and free for children under 13.

And don’t forget about the Raleigh Flea Market. The market is open Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features more than 100 vendors. From rubber chickens to rubber bands, you never know what you’ll find.

About Bearded Lady

Paul Jones blogged for the 2009-2012 N.C. State Fairs. Here's his bio from 2009: Paul Jones, here (a.k.a. Bearded Lady). I love the N.C. State Fair. I love the rides, I love the food, but my favorite part of the Fair is the displays of the unusual. The two-headed snake, the world’s smallest woman, the world’s tallest horse and the list goes on. Originally from South Carolina, I hope that I can bring a different perspective to this blog as I shed light on some of the ordinary, yet extraordinary, aspects of this year’s Fair.
