If you’re looking for a fun and inexpensive way to entertain the whole family this weekend, here’s some good news: The 11th Annual Children’s Good News Spectacular will be held in the Graham Building this Saturday. The Child Evangelism Fellowship of the Greater Raleigh Area and several area sponsors are hosting this free area-wide event for children and families. Children can enjoy inflatable games and rides, snacks and drinks, and illusion and puppet shows blended with gospel teachings. The event runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is free.

- Double L Bar Cowboy Mounted Shooters, Aug. 14 and 15
Double L Bar Shooters is producing a Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association sanctioned show, featuring riders dressed in period and contemporary western costumes. Riders will shoot balloons while on horseback with six guns, rifles and shotguns using safety blanks in the main arena. This thrilling event combines shooting skill with horsemanship against the clock. The show will take place in the Hunt Horse Complex starts at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights. Spectator admission is free.
- Children’s Spring Clothing and Baby Equipment Sale, Aug. 15
Triangle Parents of Multiples is holding its biannual public consignment sale in the Kerr Scott Building on Saturday. Visitors will find gently used clothing and other children’s items and greatly reduced prices. Offerings will include children’s and maternity clothing, toys for all ages, books, games, videos, bikes, bedding, shoes and baby equipment such as highchairs and strollers. The public sale is Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Admission is free. The sale is cash only except for Credit Card purchases of $50 or more.
- UHC Youth Benefit Open Horse Show, Aug. 15 and 16
The United Horsemen of the Carolinas joins the N.C. Arabian Association for a two-day horse show in the Hunt Horse Complex. The event includes the Region 12 Qualifier Summer Sport Horse Concurrent Show on Saturday, and the Summer Dressage Concurrent Show on Sunday.
- Raleigh Flea Market, Aug. 15-16
The Raleigh Flea Market will also be open Saturday and Sunday form 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come out and sift through the offerings of more than 600 vendors.
