Twitter!

You asked for it, and the N.C. State Fair is now on Twitter. You can follow all of our “tweets” at twitter.com/ncstatefair. For the unitiated, Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send updates (tweets) which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. (Thanks for the summary, Wikipedia!) It’s kind of like a blend of Facebook, text messaging and instant messaging.

We’re really excited to use this during the Fair from all over the grounds. Can’t you see the tweets now? “NCStateFair is milking a cow in the Jim Graham Building”…”NCStateFair is upside down on the Ring of Fire”…”NCStateFair is juggling Fried Oreos, cheesecake on a stick and a candy apple”

Until then, we’d love for you to become one of our “followers” on the site. Feel free to ask us any questions you have because we want our tweets to become a conversation with all you Fair-fanatics. Just 77 days ’til the Fair…

About Cotton Candy

Karlie Justus - blogged for the 2008 / 2009 N.C. State Fairs. This is her bio from 2009: When I'm not blogging for the N.C. State Fair, I go by Karlie Justus--but Cotton Candy suits me just fine. My earliest memories of the Fair are of the times my parents would bring my brother and I up from Asheville, N.C. for a double dose of the Fair and a N.C. State football game. Fast-forward two decades later, and I'm a public information officer for the deep fried celebration whose must-see Fair attractions include the giant pumpkins, decorated cakes and deep fried Oreos.
