Weekend Update: June 19-21

Vintage car lovers will be in heaven this weekend as the Raleigh Classic Car Auction brings flair, flash and horsepower to the N.C. State fairgrounds. The auction showcases four private collections offering more than 250 vintage vehicles including classic brands such as Chevrolet and Ford, and rare brands such as Duesenberg. The auction will take place in the Graham Building and Exposition Center. Weekend Update: June 12-14

Quarter horses are taking over the Hunt Horse Complex for the 2015 Tarheel Triple Classic. Come see riders from across North Carolina compete in Western pleasure, trail and other categories. Weekend Update: June 13-15 Father’s Day edition

The Tar Heel Triple Classic Quarter Horse Show comes to the Hunt Horse Complex this weekend. This American Quarter Horse Show runs through June 22, with show times starting at 8 a.m. Fence classes begin at 7:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and continue June 19-20. Weekend Update: May 30-June 1

The N.C. Junior Beef Roundup takes place Saturday and Sunday in the Graham Building. The event is coordinated by a group of juniors from all over the state, their breed advisers, the Purebred Breeders Council, the N.C. Cattlemen’s Association and the N.C. State University  4-H and Youth Livestock Department. The livestock show includes steer and breed shows, a showmanship competition, skill development and leadership development activities. Weekend Update: Oct. 4-6

With the N.C. State Fair right around the corner, there will not be any outside events happening on the fairgrounds through October. The buildings and grounds are being prepped for the fair, which runs Oct 17-27. This weekend, the N.C. State Fair Horse Shows begin with the Hunter Jumper show. The State Fair Horse Shows are one of the largest all-breed shows in the country, requiring more than 11 days to get all the shows in.
