This weekend, the fairgrounds will host the 2012 Got to Be NC Festival. The annual event is a celebration of North Carolina’s food and agricultural heritage, and there is plenty new in store this year. Consider the following five tips when making your plans: 1. New Festival Hours The festival has new Friday hours this year. The gates will be open from noon to midnight on Friday. Ride Report: Fighter debuts in 2010

Do you spend your days at the Fair alternating between deep-fried goodness and stomach-churning rides? Well, this may interest you: Powers Great American Midways, which brought last year’s popular Vertigo ride, recently confirmed the latest ride to grace the midway at the N.C. State Fair. It’s called Fighter. According to the manufacturer, this ride combines the rotating movements of a carousel with the pendulum motion of a swing. Unlimited ride wristband is a great deal on the Midway

The Midway is hoppin’ today, thanks in part to the unlimited ride wristband festival visitors can buy for $20. The deal started today at 3 p.m., and is good until the Midway closes tonight at 10 p.m. You can also purchase tickets individually. Each tickets is $1, or you can buy sheets of 14 tickets for $10 and 30 tickets for $20. Check out the wide variety of carnival rides and let us know which one was your favorite.
