Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup Recap

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the 2nd annual Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup at the N.C. State Fair last night. The press office had a great time meeting more than 100 of our social media friends from Twitter and Facebook in real life. We’d like to thank the guys from OurHashtag for helping to plan a great Triangle Tweetup and the guys from TriOut for making the first State Fair scavenger hunt using QR codes a great success. For those who missed it, the Tweetup featured samplings of some of our favorite Fair foods: deep-fried Chips Ahoy by Murphy…

Deep Fried Triangle Tweetupdate: Location, location, location

Location-based social media will be making its State Fair debut at the Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup on Thursday, Oct. 14.  We know many of our social media friends are already using location-based services like TriOut, FourSquare and Facebook Places to check-in, connect with friends and explore new places. We’re premiering another way to use them at the Tweetup with the first-ever State Fair location-based scavenger hunt with QR codes. The scavenger hunt, a partnership with TriOut, will be available from 3 to 8 p.m. on Preview Day. If you find all the clues by 8 p.m., you’ll walk away with…

Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup: Deep fried, IRL

At last night’s Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup, more than 150 revelers (twevelers?) came together to celebrate deep-fried food, face-painted Fail Whales and, of course, the rocking Twitter community here in the Triangle. We had a great time at the event, and we hope our tweeps did too. Also, we want to give attendees (and everyone else who came to the Fair on Thursday) a HUGE shout out for your contributions to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina (@FoodBankCENC). By bringing four cans in exchange for admission on Food Lion Hunger Relief Day (@FoodLion), you helped us raised…

Details behind the Tweetup: Swag and sponsors edition

As we get closer and closer to the Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup, we wanted to give you a little more information on what you can expect at the event beyond lots of tweeting, lots of friends and lots of N.C. State Fair lovers. We wouldn’t want to let our tweeps down when it comes to cool (free!) stuff. At the N.C. State Fair, we have many awesome sponsors, agriculture commodity groups, entertainers and friends who have donated their time and swag to the Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup, and we want to highlight them here. In addition to the other artists…

Having a hard time expressing your thoughts in 140 characters or less? (For the record, the previous question was 70 characters).
