Weekend Update: April 13-15

Saturday’s Sports Card, Memorabilia, & Comic Con  will include the UNC Tar Heel seniors from the 2017 NCAA National Basketball Championship signing autographs.  More than 75 exhibitors will be buying, selling and trading vintage to new sportscards, memorabilia and comics on over 160 tables on Saturday in the Scott Building. Autograph guests include the “Teddy Bear Girl” Addy Miller from The Walking Dead, former MLB pitcher Jose Nunez and UNC Chapel Hill 2017 NCAA National Championship Team seniors Kennedy Meeks, Isaiah Hicks, Nate Britt and Stillman White from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m….

Weekend Update: Dec. 11-13

It’s a weekend of great deals at the Fairgrounds. Adidas Warehouse Clearance Sale starts Thursday and runs through Sunday in the Expo Center. This is a warehouse clearance event and features huge savings on Adidas apparel, footwear and accessories. The sale promises the best prices of the year. Hours are Thursday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 1o a.m. to 6 p.m. The Wake County Public Library Festival of Reading and Book Sale is Thursday through Sunday in the Graham Building. Weekend Update: Jan. 31 – Feb. 2

The fairgrounds is a bit slower this weekend as we gear up for the Southern Farm Show, which starts Wednesday, Feb. 5.  The Farm Show is the largest event of the year at the fairgrounds, other than the N.C. State Fair, of course! It will take over Dorton Arena, the Graham Building, Expo Center, Scott Building, Hunt Horse Complex and a good portion of the outside grounds. Weekend Update: July 26-28

It’s time for another weekend at the fairgrounds, complete with a consignment sale, sportscard show and horse show double-feature. In the Graham Building and Expo Center, the Kids Exchange Consignment Sale will run Friday through Sunday. The sale will offer like-new clothes, toys and other children’s items at discounted prices. Most items will be sold at nearly one-third of their original value. Items will be marked half-price on Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public. If you’ve never visited the Hunt Horse Complex, this is the weekend to do it. The complex will be the site of a hunter show and two dressage shows with free spectator admission for all events. Saturday, you’re invited to come out to the fairgrounds and join the Triangle Area Chinese American Society of North Carolina as they usher in the Year of the Dragon. Now in its eighth year, the Chinese New Year celebration will feature performances, exhibits, traditional Chinese arts and crafts, and of course authentic Chinese food.
