Weekend Update: July 19-21

Come one, come all to the fairgrounds this weekend. With antiques, coins, reptiles and horses, there’s definitely something for every member of the family. The 64th Raleigh Antiques Extravaganza will be in the Graham Building. There will be more than 125 exhibitors from across the East Coast selling and trading their quality antiques and collectibles. Event hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $6.50 per day or $7.50 for a weekend pass. 90 days away

The 2012 N.C. State Fair starts 90 days from today. To get you excited about the Bumper Crop of Fun coming in October, we thought we’d share this really cool video from the 1970s. It’s part of N.C. State University’s digitization project called Cultivating a Revolution: Science, Technology, and Change in North Carolina Agriculture, 1950-1979. The video is aerial footage of the fair circa 1973. Weekend Update: July 15-17

The Raleigh Kids Exchange Consignment Sale begins today and continues through Sunday in the Graham Building and Exposition Center. The event bills itself as “the ultimate recycle” and “the nation’s largest consignment event.” In the past few years the event has grown steadily, so expect to see a wide variety of items. Kids Exchange is designed to allow parents to come together to buy, sell and donate clothes, toys and other children’s items.
