Left Hook, Right Hook Triangle Kickboxing Promotions presents the premier amateur and professional kickboxing event “Lightning Strikes” July 14 in the Scott Building. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event starts at 7 p.m. Advance ticket prices for general admission is $35, floor preferred seating is $45 and ringside seating is $60 with limited VIP tables. Weekend Update: Raleigh Flea Market returns Nov. 4

The Raleigh Flea Market reopens Saturday, Nov. 4, after a month-long break for the N.C. State Fair. The flea market is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays except during October, when the annual State Fair is held. The flea market will be open regular hours on Thanksgiving weekend, but will not be open Friday, Nov. 24. The Raleigh Flea Market is one of the largest flea markets in the Southeast with more than 600 vendors offering everything from antiques to handicrafts, furniture and homemade goods. Parking is free. Weekend Update: Nov. 25-27

The Christmas Carousel Holiday Gift Market is Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Graham Building. Admission covers all three days and is $8 for adults, $7 for senior and members of the military with ID and $4 for children ages 6 to 12. Children ages 5 and under are admitted free. Weekend Update: July 15-17

You can catch a horse show in the morning, antiques in the afternoon and a circus at night this weekend at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. Not to be forgotten is the free Children’s Good News Spectacular on Saturday. Upcoming events include: The Triangle Wide Horseman’s Association Open Horse Show is Saturday and Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. daily in the Hunt Horse Complex. Admission is free. This weekend at the fairgrounds is bound to be a knock out. Dorton Arena will host wrestling and boxing this week. Big Time Wrestling takes over Dorton Arena on Friday and features Omega championship wrestling. The event includes steel cage matches, heavyweight championship and a lifetime achievement award will be presented to The Boogie Woogie Man, Jimmy Valiant.
