French Fry’s Food Finds
French Fry, a.k.a. Terri, doesn’t post on the Deep Fried blog but she is an integral part of the State Fair press office. Each year, French Fry creates a list of foods to eat during the fair. We’ll check with her every few days and give you an update on the list. Any of these items make it to your favorites list?
Yeah we’re movin’ on up…
George and Weesie may have moved on up, but we are movin’ on out…to the fairgrounds, that is. For most of the year, we work downtown at the Ag Department Press Office, beside the N.C. History and Science museums. But for about two and a half magical weeks, we move our entire office out to the fairgrounds to start preparing for Fair events and helping the media find stories. Today is moving day, and we are busy boxing up press kits, media badges, laptop computers, phones, folders, fax machines, printers. . .and the list goes on. And there’s only five…
The countdown is speeding up … opening day is 23 days away!
I took a look at the calendar this morning and realized that the N.C. State Fair will open in 3 1/2 weeks. And then I almost had a panic attack because right next to the calendar is my ever-growing “To Do” list. Then I took a deep breath and calmed down. Everytime I run into someone I know, I get asked the same question, “So, are you getting ready for the Fair?” I smile and say, “yeah, you could say something like that.” We’ve been in preparation for the Fair for months, but now is when things really speed up….
