Weekend Update: June 2-4

Weekend Update: Sept. 18-20

The Arabian and Half-Arabian Sport Horse National Show is at the Hunt Horse Complex this week, with competitors from all over the nation. The show is free for spectators and also offers the Total Arabian Interactive Learning tours on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 6 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.; and on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.   Go online to register for a tour and to find showtimes. Weekend Update: Jan. 3-5

Are you a bride-to-be, cat lover, or in search of a new hot tub? If so, the N.C. State Fairgrounds has you covered this weekend. The Spa and Swim Show will be Friday through Sunday in the Exposition Center. According to organizers, hundred of hot tubs, swim spas and everything needed to create a backyard oasis will be available, and shoppers can expect discounts from 40 to 80 percent off suggested retail. Weekend Update: Sept. 14-16

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this weekend at the fairgrounds. That’s because, we’re hosting the 31st annual Greek Festival. After more than 30 years, the cultural festival long been a Raleigh tradition. If you’ve never been, you can look forward to authentic Greek food and pastries, cooking demonstrations, music and dancing and a Greek marketplace. The festival is open Friday from 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and teens ages 13-19, and free for children…

Weekend Update: January 6-8

Did you get a new boat for Christmas? No? Well, then buy yourself a New Year’s gift starting this Friday at 10 a.m. at the Bass & Saltwater Fishing Expo in the Graham and Expo buildings! Weekend Update: June 3-5

Although the 2011 N.C. State Fair is still months away, there’s still plenty to do for everyone at the Fairgrounds this weekend.  The Capital Dressage Classic runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Sunday.  The horse competition also includes a vendor fair.  On Saturday the Classic will also host a special performance by the 82nd Airborne Division’s All-American Chorus and a Medieval jousting and tournament games exhibition. Also running Friday through Sunday, the North Carolina Junior Beef Round-Up will include steer and breed shows, showmanship competitions and other family activities. …
