State Fair takes a walk with dinosaurs

The State Fair is going prehistoric … sort of. Today, RBC Center officials held a press conference to announce the upcoming “Walking with Dinosaurs — The Live Experience,” which will take place Oct. 22-26. The State Fair and the folks at the RBC Center are partnering on a promotion, and it means a good deal for people interested in both dinosaurs and the fair. Toby Mac takes the lead!

Yep, Christian hip-hop artist, Toby Mac, has taken the early lead, despite a url mix-up on the part of yours truly. (Sorry to anyone this morning who tried to link to Toby Mac or Jason Aldean tickets and ended up in the Josh Turner ticket bin instead. It was quickly remedied, but an embarrassing gaff on my part. Concert in Dorton Arena at 2007 N.C. State Fair Concert tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., and as you know, the early bird gets the best seats! A green thing or two.

When you visit the State Fair this year, keep an eye out for some green things. For one, you may notice that there are more places to sit and relax in a natural environment. What was once the parking lot between Dorton Arena, the Jim Graham Building and Expo Center is now under construction to become the Dorton Triangle, complete with two, large grass and flower-filled havens, seating and eventually trees for shade.
