Happy 4th of July!

It’s hard to believe, but it’s already time for fireworks, good food and sporting your red, white and blue. For those of you in Raleigh for the July 4th holiday, be sure to catch the fireworks shows downtown this year. The first show will be at 9:15 p.m. and best seen from Fayetteville Street. The second show will begin at 10:15 p.m. in the area around the Red Hat Amphitheater. Although the fairgrounds will not have any special events on July 4th or through the weekend, the Flea Market will operate Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m….

Weekend Update: June 22-24

Horsepower and horse shows are part of this weekend’s lineup at the fairgrounds. Free fireworks at the fairgrounds on the Fourth

Where can you watch a free, spectacular fireworks show; enjoy free activities like a water-ballon toss, sack races and Wii gaming; hear local bands for free and eat free N.C. watermelon, all in one day? It’s all at the State Fairgrounds this Sunday for the 2010 July 4th Celebration, presented by the City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department and the N.C. State Fair.
