I’ll admit: I’m a bit of a fan girl for Jamey Johnson. I don’t know if it’s the outlaw country vibe, his honest lyrics or that intense beard. (Okay, I know it’s not the beard. The beard is a little scary.) What I do know is his brand of country music is a unique mix of honky-tonk, outlaw and a little bit of the blues. N.C. State Fair ticket sales update

We’re  pretty pumped about how well ticket sales are going this year. As of Monday, we’ve sold double the number of admission tickets (16,800) and more than the double the amount of ride tickets (9,303) than we had last year at this point. Dorton Arena shows are also coming along nicely. There are some clear favorites in the lead, but local guys Jason Michael Carroll, who has sold 1,410 tickets, and Anoop Desai, who has sold 1,114, are also doing well. State Fair Press Conference: Concert lineup announced

Brian Long, director of the State Fair Press Office, held a press conference today in the Bearded Lady’s office (aka the intern’s office) to announce the 2009 State Fair concert lineup.
