What if I told you that if you bring at least four cans of food to the N.C. State Fair on Thursday, Oct. 22, you’ll get free admission to the Fair on that day? No, I’m not pulling your turkey leg. In fact, we have offered a similar deal each Fair for the past 14 years. It’s a day of giving that we call Food Lion Hunger Relief Day. Volunteer to recycle, get free Fair T-shirt and admission ticket

The N.C. Division of Pollution Prevention and Environmental Assistance is assisting Green Thing again this year with the Fair’s recycling booths. This is the second year we’ve had recycling bins at the Fair, and we’re excited this program is growing. We had some great volunteers last year who made the program a success, and we need your help again. Best of all, if you volunteer, you’ll recieve a Fair T-shirt and an admission ticket.
