RMI Raleigh Benefit Hunter/Jumper Show Hunter and jumper competitions return to the Hunt Horse complex this week with the RMI Raleigh Benefit Hunter/Jumper Show. Jump for the Children Horse Show and more this weekend

This weekend, you can enjoy some of the best horse jumping on the East Coast and support the Duke Children’s Hospital at the Jump for the Children Horse Show at the Hunt Horse Complex. The horse show, which runs through Sunday, offers U.S. Equestrian Federation AA-rated hunter and jumper competitions each day. Free shows start daily at 8 a.m. Saturday, come out for the Duke Children’s Hospital Grand Prix, part of the Jump for the Children event. The show starts at 8 p.m., doors open at 6:30. Raleigh Flea Market reopens Nov. 3

Nearly a million people had a “Bumper Crop of Fun” enjoying the exhibits, entertainment and food at the 2012 N.C. State Fair. Thanks to everyone who came out this year. The fair is by far the largest event held at the fairgrounds during the year, but it’s not the only one. In fact, the fairgrounds host hundreds of events each year. Got to Be NC Festival this weekend

This weekend, the fairgrounds will host the 2012 Got to Be NC Festival. The annual event is a celebration of North Carolina’s food and agricultural heritage, and there is plenty new in store this year. Consider the following five tips when making your plans: 1. It’s hard to believe we’ve almost wrapped up the first three months of 2012. That means the State Fair will be here before you know it. Sadly, it’s not this weekend. But, there are plenty of activities going on at the fairgrounds we think you will enjoy. The Wake County Library Book Sale started Thursday in the Graham Building with more than 450,000 items for sale. A variety of vintage sports trading cards and sports memorabilia will be on display at the Sportscard and Sports Memorabilia 3-Day Show in the Scott Building. The event will feature nearly 100 merchants and will be open Friday through Sunday.
