Weekend Update: Raleigh Flea Market returns Nov. 4

The Raleigh Flea Market reopens Saturday, Nov. 4, after a month-long break for the N.C. State Fair. The flea market is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays except during October, when the annual State Fair is held. The flea market will be open regular hours on Thanksgiving weekend, but will not be open Friday, Nov. 24. The Raleigh Flea Market is one of the largest flea markets in the Southeast with more than 600 vendors offering everything from antiques to handicrafts, furniture and homemade goods. Parking is free. Weekend Update: Flea Market and other events return this weekend

After a month-long break, the Raleigh Flea Market reopens this weekend. Come browse hundreds of vendors as the Commercial and Education buildings and the grounds are transformed into the largest flea market in the area. The market is open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Other events: ‘Jump for Children’ Horse Show, benefiting Dukes Children’s Hospital is at the Hunt Horse Complex. The horse show offers U.S. Equestrian Federation AA-rated hunter and show jumping competitions each day. Raleigh Flea Market reopens Nov. 3

Nearly a million people had a “Bumper Crop of Fun” enjoying the exhibits, entertainment and food at the 2012 N.C. State Fair. Thanks to everyone who came out this year. The fair is by far the largest event held at the fairgrounds during the year, but it’s not the only one. In fact, the fairgrounds host hundreds of events each year. Weekend Update: November 4-6

Though the fair has come and passed, there is still plenty going on at the fairgrounds this weekend. Handbell ringers from several states will come together in Scott Building Friday and Saturday for the Capital Area Handbell Festival. The event will be hosted by the Raleigh Ringers. Running Friday through Sunday, visitors can check out: The Junior Woman’s Club Fall Furniture Consignment Sale in the Holshouser Building.
