Thanks again to the 1,009,173 who came out for the 2011 N.C. State Fair. There was a lot to love about this year’s fair, and we had a great time going behind the scenes to bring you updates on the deep-fried food, exhibits, competitions and people that made this fair one to remember. We are slowly recovering from all the excitement, and it won’t be long before we begin plans for the 2012 fair. Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup Recap

We had a great time last night hanging out with more than 100 of our social media followers at the Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup. We hope everyone had fun creating origami Twitter birds, sharing their State Fair memories, learning how to yo-yo, sampling Deep Fried Kool-Aid and House-Autry Mills hushpuppies and posing on our red carpet during the event. Deep Fried Triangle TweetUPdate

We’re one week away from the 2011 N.C. State Fair and the Deep Fried Triangle Tweetup. This year’s Tweetup goes way beyond the latest deep-fried creation. Sure, there will be samples of some awesome new food, but we also hope you leave with an even greater appreciation of the exhibits, rides and entertainment at the fair. Behind the Scenes: Blue Ribbon Memories

State Fair fans have a new way to share their “Love A Fair” online with a website created by the State Library of North Carolina called Blue Ribbon Memories: Your History of the N.C. State Fair. As Flying Bob mentioned in a previous post, the website offers visitors a chance to search through old premium books and view State Fair photographs and memorabilia from the state collection.
