Sweet Potato Swag

Stop by Sweet Potato Day at the State Farmers Market for a Bumper Crop of Fun Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Still need to buy your State Fair tickets? Starting Thursday, you can take advantage of nine retail walk-up locations throughout the Triangle and surrounding areas. Buying in advance will save you time waiting in lines at the fair and put more money back in your pockets. Buying in advance also could earn you an N.C. State Fair T-shirt. Here’s how:

Merrie Go Round and I will be at the State Farmers Market (one of the retail walk-up locations) Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the market’s Sweet Potato Day. Stop by and grab some free sweet potato dessert samples, recipes and nutritional information. While you’re there, pick up your State Fair tickets at the ticket booth between the Farmers Building and the Market Shoppes. Show us your tickets and we’ll give you a State Fair T-shirt.

Let’s review: Save money on State Fair tickets. Sample sweet potato desserts. Score State Fair swag. Not bad for a Thursday.

In case you didn’t know, the State Fair starts Oct. 11. That’s just two weeks until we unleash a Bumper Crop of Fun. Start planning your trip at www.ncstatefair.org.

About Bearded Lady

Paul Jones blogged for the 2009-2012 N.C. State Fairs. Here's his bio from 2009: Paul Jones, here (a.k.a. Bearded Lady). I love the N.C. State Fair. I love the rides, I love the food, but my favorite part of the Fair is the displays of the unusual. The two-headed snake, the world’s smallest woman, the world’s tallest horse and the list goes on. Originally from South Carolina, I hope that I can bring a different perspective to this blog as I shed light on some of the ordinary, yet extraordinary, aspects of this year’s Fair.
