It’s been a busy Saturday at the Fairgrounds. Green Thing and I judged the Subway $5 Footlong Song Challenge this morning, then we joined Merrie Go Round to move Farm Animal Frenzy animals into their respective spaces. Then we’ve spent the afternoon with Flying Bob in the Press Office putting together press kits for our media lunch on Monday.

Overall, it’s been a great day. It was tough to choose five finalists to compete for the Subway grand prize on Tuesday, Oct. 22. And the Farm Animal Frenzy animals are AMAZING. We threw down the gauntlet and challenged the high schools to create their own farm animals using mostly recycled products. They did a phenomenal job and used so many different types of materials – from old phone cords to an old piano and sewing machines. We’ll announce the winners of this contest on Monday after the Media Lunch.

The Farm Animal Frenzy Animals were all corralled together for judging before being moved into place.
