Moving Day!

From 2 W. Edenton Street in downtown Raleigh. . .

The main home for the Ag Department Press Office is downtown beside the N.C. History and Science Museums…but for about two and a half magical weeks, we move our entire office out to the fairgrounds to start preparing for Fair events and helping the media find its stories. Today is moving day, and despite the rainy forecast, we are busy boxing up press kits, media badges, laptop computers, phones, folders, fax machines, printers. . .and the list goes on. And there’s only five of us!

So while blogging may be spotty today, rest easy in the fact that soon we’ll post pictures of our new digs. And we’re especially excited about being out on the grounds with new pictures, new stories, new interviews and new scoops to post on here. So get your advance tickets, plan out your food agenda, check the blog often and we’ll see you soon!

About Cotton Candy

Karlie Justus - blogged for the 2008 / 2009 N.C. State Fairs. This is her bio from 2009: When I'm not blogging for the N.C. State Fair, I go by Karlie Justus--but Cotton Candy suits me just fine. My earliest memories of the Fair are of the times my parents would bring my brother and I up from Asheville, N.C. for a double dose of the Fair and a N.C. State football game. Fast-forward two decades later, and I'm a public information officer for the deep fried celebration whose must-see Fair attractions include the giant pumpkins, decorated cakes and deep fried Oreos.
