So I’m watching CMT this morning and I start noticing that they keep playing songs by performers coming to the N.C. State Fair this year.
It started with “Lookin’ for a Good Time” by Lady Antebellum, then “Johnny and June” by Heidi Newfield, followed by”Relentless” by Jason Aldean.
In fact, a quick search of CMT’s Top 20 Countdown for the week of Oct. 3 features four State Fair acts. Montgomery Gentry comes in at #19 with “Roll With Me,” Jason Aldean is at #18, Lady Antebellum is at #17 and Heidi Newfield is at #11.
Speaks well for the lineup that is coming to Dorton Arena. If you haven’t got your tickets yet, there are still good seats left to most shows. Go to the State Fair Web site and click on the link to Buy Tickets. Tickets are only being sold online now for the Dorton Arena shows.
Jason Aldean should put on a rocking-good show, and I, for one, am looking forward to seeing it. In 2007, the Georgia native took home the Academy of Country Music’s Award for Top New Male Vocalist, and he has continued to turn out hit songs. He’s touring in support of his sophomore album, “Relentless,” which has produced the popular cuts, “Johnny Cash,” “Laughed Until We Cried” and the title song. His debut album produced the hits “Hicktown,” “Amarillo Sky” and the ballad “Why.”
We’ll try to post photos from the Oct. 17 show sometime during the Fair, so check back and see the pics.
