Most experienced fairgoers know that buying advance sales is the smartest way to get your tickets to the N.C. State Fair. Not only do you save money, you also get to skip standing in line with your family waiting to buy tickets. But there’s a catch: if you wait too long, you’ll end up standing in line anyway. (The savings are still worth it, it just isn’t a lot of fun to stand in line.) A majority of advance sales buyers wait until the last few days…especially the very last day. So the sooner you can get your tickets, the better off you’ll be. This year, there’s a home football game on the last day of sales, so it will be more difficult to get to Gate 9 at the State Fairgrounds to buy tickets before the deadline. This will push more people to other retail sites in Raleigh/Durham:
- State Farmers Market, Raleigh
- Triangle Town Center, Raleigh
- Museum of History, Raleigh
- Northgate Mall, Durham
- The Streets at South Point, Durham
So, the moral of this story: Go early to get your tickets.
