Daily tractor parades are just one of the activities at the Got to Be NC Festival.

It’s a celebration of food and agriculture at the 11th annual Got to Be N.C. Festival.  Come enjoy a mix of food, fun, music, carnival rides, tractors and more. Gate admission is free. Highlights include:

  • Homegrown Marketplace presented by Lowes Foods, in the Exposition Center. Nearly 100 North Carolina companies will be sampling and selling their products. Admission is $3 for ages 12 or older, but visitors will get a coupon for $2 off purchase (excluding alcohol)
  • 10th Annual Masonic Carolina Pig Jig BBQ Cook-off will be Saturday beside the Exposition Center. Enjoy barbecue from 40 Masonic Lodges. Tickets are $15 for ages 11 and over, $5 for ages 7-10, and free for ages 6 and under. Barbecue sales start at 11 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Masonic homes for children in Oxford.

  • Returning this year is the Pig Patch Birthing Center, music in Dorton Arena including Outlaw Nation and the Carolina Bluegrass Battle, and the State Fair Flyer chairlift  offering a birds-eye view of the midway and grounds.
  • Additional free entertainment includes fireworks, bluegrass competition, Captain Jim the Magic Pirate, Dan Dan the Farmer Man, Oscar the Robot, Circle C Racing Pigs and more. The popular tractor parade will also be held daily at 1 p.m.

About Funhouse

On the blog I go by Fun House (AKA Heather Overton). At the Fair you'll find me checking out the blue ribbon winners or hanging out in Heritage Circle. It would be hard for me to pick a favorite part of the Fair, but I can tell you one thing I hate - leaving it on the last day. I can't wait for opening day!
