Food Review: Deep-fried chicken pot pie

Working in the State Fair press office can be stressful at times, but one of the best parts of the job is getting to sample fair food. We’ve done a lot of reviews for the Deep Fried blog, and here’s our latest one for deep-fried chicken pot pie at Woody’s City Market near the midway. In 2009, we reviewed Woody’s buffalo chicken rangoons and really liked them. Check out the video below to see what we thought about the deep fried chicken pot pie.

About Bearded Lady

Paul Jones blogged for the 2009-2012 N.C. State Fairs. Here's his bio from 2009: Paul Jones, here (a.k.a. Bearded Lady). I love the N.C. State Fair. I love the rides, I love the food, but my favorite part of the Fair is the displays of the unusual. The two-headed snake, the world’s smallest woman, the world’s tallest horse and the list goes on. Originally from South Carolina, I hope that I can bring a different perspective to this blog as I shed light on some of the ordinary, yet extraordinary, aspects of this year’s Fair.

  1. That sounds & looks a lot tastier than I had expected! But are you brave enough to try the Krispy Kreme Goober Burger??? That thing scares me. FYI, the Bourbon & Bacon ice cream at Lumpy’s is amazingly good.

  2. “porta pot” pie?
