Flu shots at the Fair

Flu shots will be available in the Dome, circled above in red. For a larger map, click here.

You already come to the Fair for the thrills, the atmosphere, the competitions and the yummy treats–so why not come for your health?

One of our 2008 sponsors, Kerr Drug, will provide flu shots for Fair visitors everyday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Dome near Dorton Arena and Hillsborough Street. Anyone 18 years and older is eligible for the shot. They’ll be accepting people on a walk-in basis, so no appointment is necessary. The shot will be $30, or free for anyone with primary coverage through Medicare Part B and other qualifying insurance plans billed by Kerr Drug.

This is a great opportunity to build your immunity up enough to sustain eleven days of all the turkey legs, deep fried Oreos, N.C. State ice cream, cheesecake on a stick, pickles, etc. (etc.!), you professed your love for on our food blog post last week!

About Cotton Candy

Karlie Justus - blogged for the 2008 / 2009 N.C. State Fairs. This is her bio from 2009: When I'm not blogging for the N.C. State Fair, I go by Karlie Justus--but Cotton Candy suits me just fine. My earliest memories of the Fair are of the times my parents would bring my brother and I up from Asheville, N.C. for a double dose of the Fair and a N.C. State football game. Fast-forward two decades later, and I'm a public information officer for the deep fried celebration whose must-see Fair attractions include the giant pumpkins, decorated cakes and deep fried Oreos.
