Farm Family of the Day: Ruby Brown Farm Produce

Every year the N.C. State Fair thrills people of all ages and backgrounds from across the state for 11 exciting days. Fairgoers get the chance to enjoy exciting rides and delicious new foods. The State Fair is also a time to celebrate N.C. agriculture and the hardworking families who make it our state’s leading industry.

Farm Family of the Day, sponsored by Tractor Supply Co., is a program that recognizes one standout farm family each day of the N.C. State Fair. To honor these families’ accomplishments and contributions to North Carolina agriculture, they are awarded tickets to attend the fair on a day of their choosing, where they will be recognized through PA announcements and signs on the fairgrounds.

Today, the N.C. State Fair and Tractor Supply Co. congratulate Ruby Brown Farm of Buncombe County!

This multigenerational family farm has been in the Brown family for over 100 years. As a member of the N.C. Department of Agriculture’s Century Farm program, this family has carved out their place in the local agriculture world for decades.

The farm is located in Leicester where they raise beef cattle including both Black and Red Angus. The family prides themselves for raising grass fed grain finished cattle and providing high quality cuts of meat to their customers. In the local area they partner with several other farmers to sell their products such as Worley Flower Farm, another farm family being honored at this year’s State Fair!

Within the local community, they’re known for their longstanding dedication to the world of agriculture. Customers love purchasing their high-quality products and appreciate the amount of time they dedicate to providing the very best to the local community. Additionally, the family regularly visits schools across the state to help educate kids about the state’s agricultural history.

The Brown family is deeply honored to have been chosen as one of the 2025 N.C. State Fair farm families, and they’re looking forward to seeing all that the State Fair has to offer this year. They’re particularly appreciative of the fair’s dedication to highlighting agriculture and livestock year after year.

Congratulations to Ruby Brown Farm ! Look out for our next featured farm family tomorrow!
