When Bobby Flay steps onto the stage in Dorton Arena on Oct. 20, he’ll be stepping onto a backyard paradise – or at least as much semblance of a backyard paradise as fair workers can manage between the time Lady Antebellum and Heidi Newfield pull away from the fairgrounds on Sunday night and the time the doors open for the Bobby Flay cooking show on Monday night.
It’s no surprise that the star of Grill It with Bobby Flay and Showdown with Bobby Flay would ask for a backyard setting for a cooking demonstration. But the Mesa Grill owner will be doing more than just backyard grilling – he’s using North Carolina products to create an impressive menu. And I can guarantee that this Food Network star will be doing quite a bit of cooking.
I’m not going to tell you what he’s cooking…I’ll keep that a surprise, but I think you’ll be impressed with his menu. The good news for fairgoers attending the event is that they will receive a commemorative, full-color program of the show, including recipes for each of the items he’s preparing, so they will be able to follow along with his prep work and recreate it at home.
Tickets to the Bobby Flay show are $22 and good seats are still available.
