Dusting off and gearing up

State Fair

The dust has settled from the weekend’s lawn mower races and it’s time to gear up for the 2010 N.C. State Fair. Thanks to everyone who came out last weekend to the Got to Be NC Festival. We had a great time, and it was just the jolt we needed to wake up from our deep-fried stupor.

Planning for the 2010 Fair began the minute the 2009 Fair was over, and the deep-fried crew is ready to share with you everything that’s new. This year’s crew includes Bearded Lady, Firecracker, Flying Bob, GreenThing, Merrie Go Round and our newest deep-fried intern Sweet Corn. Over the coming weeks, we will bring you behind-the-scenes features plus the latest information on tickets, rides, competitions, entertainment and more.

Here’s how you can stay connected: bookmark the Deep Fried blog or subscribe to the RSS feed; “like” us on Facebook;  follow us on Twitter; or be our friend on MySpace. You also can watch deep-fried videos on YouTube and share your State Fair photos on Flickr.

We know the N.C. State Fair has the greatest fans in the country, and we can’t wait to hear from you.

About Bearded Lady

Paul Jones blogged for the 2009-2012 N.C. State Fairs. Here's his bio from 2009: Paul Jones, here (a.k.a. Bearded Lady). I love the N.C. State Fair. I love the rides, I love the food, but my favorite part of the Fair is the displays of the unusual. The two-headed snake, the world’s smallest woman, the world’s tallest horse and the list goes on. Originally from South Carolina, I hope that I can bring a different perspective to this blog as I shed light on some of the ordinary, yet extraordinary, aspects of this year’s Fair.
