Don’t miss your chance to win the Great Fair-A-Thon Challenge

In case you missed the big announcement, we’re partnering with Subway during this year’s State Fair to offer a free trip for two to New York City. After Pants Dance Revolution and the $5 Footlong Song Challenge, we decided it was time to take things to another level. That’s why we recently announced the Great Fair-A-Thon Challenge. The contest has three stages of competition, but if you make it to the finish line you can win a two-day trip to New York City to watch Jared Fogle, the Subway guy, compete in the New York City Marathon.

The first stage of the race, a virtual scavenger hunt, is already under way. We’ve hidden clues on the Deep Fried blog and across our other social media sites. You might even find a clue at your neighborhood Subway. Visit www.GreatFairAThonChallenge.com for more details and hints on the locations of your next clues. Once you find all the clues, be sure to complete your virtual scavenger hunt game card (available Monday, Oct. 4) and submit it online by the deadline (Thursday, Oct. 7).

On Oct. 8, we’ll announce the winners who will advance to compete in an actual scavenger hunt at the N.C. State Fair on Oct. 19. Those contestants will have a chance to meet the Deep Fried crew and Jared Fogle, and possibly walk away with a trip for two to New York City. If you think you have what it takes to win, check out the contest website today.

About Bearded Lady

Paul Jones blogged for the 2009-2012 N.C. State Fairs. Here's his bio from 2009: Paul Jones, here (a.k.a. Bearded Lady). I love the N.C. State Fair. I love the rides, I love the food, but my favorite part of the Fair is the displays of the unusual. The two-headed snake, the world’s smallest woman, the world’s tallest horse and the list goes on. Originally from South Carolina, I hope that I can bring a different perspective to this blog as I shed light on some of the ordinary, yet extraordinary, aspects of this year’s Fair.

  1. i don’t have the stamina to do a timed scavenger hunt but would be interested in doing it at a more leisurely pace without the promise of a prize. could this be possible?

  2. When I click on the link on the State Fair Fan Page to get the #2 clue it just takes me back to the top of their profile page. I also can’t find any tab that say’s “Great Fair-A-Thon Challenge”. Am I missing something or could you only find this clue that day it was posted?

  3. It says clue number 4 is only available at Subways in Raleigh/Durham…but I live in the Fayetteville/Sanford area…is the clue available here???
