Deep Fried photograph: Cooler weather is coming

The N.C. State Fair is just a little more than three weeks away and we still have four days of 90-plus degree temperatures on the seven-day forecast in Raleigh. Usually I’m geared up for the Fair by now, but it still seems so far away. I’ve decided it’s because of the weather. I know it’s Fair time when the air has a bite to it when I walk from my car to the Ag Building in the mornings.  That’s not the case so far this year. So when it was my turn to pick a photo from all the great fan-submitted photos in our Facebook photo album, I chose this one. It reminds me that cooler temps are on their way. We’ll be wearing jackets and hats and gloves before you know it.

After all, we’re just 22 days away from the Fair  now. The cooler temps must not be far away either.
