This is a guest blogger post by our Official Deep Fried Ambassador, Ashlee. We’ll be reposting her State Fair adventures from her Miss Ashlee blog throughout the Fair.
Fine Folks
I love the people at the Fair!
You really get to meet all sorts of folks and it’s just fun to watch and interact with them. Perhaps it’s because I’m a psychologist….
I love to see the small kids who are in sensory overload and are crying in their strollers. Though I feel for them, I love to see the look of desperation on their parent’s faces. I love to see vendors who are obviously passionate about what they do and want to share it.
I love to see the look at people’s faces when they see all the food choices. I love that when I’m watching the livestock judging I get to hear cattlemen give their comments. I love to talk to the farmers inevitably found in the Expo Center looking at the veggies. I love to see fellow employees of the great state of North Carolina!
I love to see the students from NCSU talking about the animals and help educate the wee ones via games and candy incentives. I love to see the beekeeper – cause he’s just plain crazy in love with those bees. I love to talk to the crafters in the Village of Yesteryear and am awed at how easy it seems when they explain what they do.
The State Fair is a great place to celebrate how different yet the same we all are! I’m glad I get to go each year and meet so many awesome people!
Now it’s your turn…I’d love to hear about who you like running into at the State Fair!
(aka – leave a comment!)
I love the talking robot that walks around interacting with the crowd. My kids look for him every year and have their picture taken with him. It’s becoming a tradition!
Isn’t this why we have state and county fairs ? To people watch and socialize. Human kind need interaction with each other. And that is what the state and county fairs are for.
