Dancin’ fools

We had a blast at Wednesday’s Pants Dance Revolution. The event drew a big crowd around the Waterfall Stage and the Storm Squad, Mike Morse from G105’s Bob and the Showgram and THE Subway guy, Jared Fogle. The contest, which invited people to upload their craziest dance moves in their craziest pants to YouTube, generated almost 10,000 views.

The prizes were pretty sweet: A year’s supply of SUBWAY sandwiches, a Nintendo Wii, a Wii Fit game and–drum roll, please–a signed pair of Jared’s size 60 pants. If you didn’t make it out to get a Jared head or enter the Hurricanes raffle, we’ve put together video from the contest.

We invited the top entrants based on online star ratings and quantity of ratings to enjoy a day at the Fair and The four “Pants Dance Revolution” finalists (in the order they appear on the video) were:

* Austin Newell, 16, and Bobby Demoss, 17, students from Knightdale

* Devin Bazemore, 17, a student from Wake Forest

* Nicholas Springer, 4, of Raleigh

*Sterling C. Franklin, 25, of Cary, an itinerant minister & counselor

Watch the video to find out who wins and let us know if they were your favorite.

About Cotton Candy

Karlie Justus - blogged for the 2008 / 2009 N.C. State Fairs. This is her bio from 2009: When I'm not blogging for the N.C. State Fair, I go by Karlie Justus--but Cotton Candy suits me just fine. My earliest memories of the Fair are of the times my parents would bring my brother and I up from Asheville, N.C. for a double dose of the Fair and a N.C. State football game. Fast-forward two decades later, and I'm a public information officer for the deep fried celebration whose must-see Fair attractions include the giant pumpkins, decorated cakes and deep fried Oreos.
