Borden’s booth educates and entertains

Elsie the Cow will be making special appearances at Borden's booth near Gate 8.

If you enter the 2011 N.C. State Fair through Gate 8, you’ll notice several of our sponsors set up along the main walkway. One of those sponsors, Borden Cheese, will be set up just inside the entrance with its Friends of Elsie Tour. The booth is a mixture of education and entertainment. This morning, Firecracker and I visited the booth to speak with a real N.C. dairy farmer Eugene Blackwell of Oxford, listen to 14-year-old country sensation Easton Hamlin and play some of the interactive games available. You can even get your photo taken with Elsie the cow, who is making special appearances during the weekend. Check out the video below for some of the booth’s highlights.

Also at Gate 8, look for samples from Ocean Spray, giveaways from Geico and a cool photo booth sponsored by Wells Fargo. This is the last weekend of the 2011 N.C. State Fair. Make sure you come out for one of the best entertainment values around. You can find more information and buy your tickets at www.ncstatefair.org.

About Bearded Lady

Paul Jones blogged for the 2009-2012 N.C. State Fairs. Here's his bio from 2009: Paul Jones, here (a.k.a. Bearded Lady). I love the N.C. State Fair. I love the rides, I love the food, but my favorite part of the Fair is the displays of the unusual. The two-headed snake, the world’s smallest woman, the world’s tallest horse and the list goes on. Originally from South Carolina, I hope that I can bring a different perspective to this blog as I shed light on some of the ordinary, yet extraordinary, aspects of this year’s Fair.
