It was a tough choice for judges with 19 excellent animals to choose from, but there were 3 stand-outs in the herd. Murial, the Dairy Queen from Apex High School won $1,000 and first place.
Second place goes to a chicken decorated by Fuquay-Varina High School. Javier at the Fair won the school $750 for their art program.
Ms. Moo, a cow decorated by Jesse O. Sanderson High School in Raleigh won third place and $500.
Judges also selected “Corny Carney Carl” by Wakefield High School, “Playin’ Hooky” by Garner Magnet School and an unnamed horse by the N.C. School of Math and Science as honorables.
Don’t forget to go online to vote for your favorite animal or school, by going to www.ncstatefair.org and clicking on the “Farm Animal Frenzy” button.
