Concert in Dorton Arena at 2007 N.C. State Fair Concert tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., and as you know, the early bird gets the best seats! Here are some tips for a successful concert ticket purchase: Go to the State Fair’s web site a few minutes before 8 a.m. You can either go to the Tickets page and scroll to the bottom OR go to the Dorton Arena Nightly Entertainment page to buy tickets for a specific artist. To be announced, part II

A few weeks ago, I posted about our mystery guests on the Dorton Arena lineup. One of those artists was announced last week: Lady Antebellum and Heidi Newfield will perform on Sunday, Oct. 19 in Dorton Arena. The second blank spot in the line up will stay blank for a little while longer. It’s still causing quite the stir. I can confirm that Kellie Pickler is NOT the mystery artist. Sorry. Maybe next year! With all the input, maybe we’ll have a contest next year to fill in the blank for a date on our music roster. Stay tuned!

To be announced

When we announced the concert lineup last week, we left two dates intentionally blank. This has created quite the stir among Dorton Arena concert lovers, who have had plenty of suggestions for who we should get to perform those nights. Sorry to disappoint, but we actually have artists booked for those nights, but are under contractual obligation to hold off on announcing those acts until a later date. Candy apples

A few weeks ago, we hosted the Got to Be NC Festival at the State Fairgrounds and I caught up with one of the vendors that is also at the State Fair, Miss Debbies Specialty Apples. As their name implies, these are no ordinary candy apples. A new flavor that caught my eye (I don’t remember seeing it last year) is the Cafe Ola.
